📝 Editorial Independence

Our Editorial Standards & Publishing Guidelines

How we maintain editorial independence, who writes our content, what we publish, and how we handle corrections and sponsored content.

Section 01

Who We Are & How We Operate

SaasTreats.com is an independent media and product company. We publish SaaS tool reviews, affiliate marketing guides, industry statistics, and free tools for marketers, bloggers, and SaaS teams.

Editorial Independence Statement

“Our editorial team operates separately from our commercial and agency teams. No sponsor, partner, or affiliate relationship can direct, alter, or suppress our editorial coverage.”

This means the people who write and edit our reviews are not the same people who manage affiliate partnerships or sell agency services. Commercial decisions have no input into editorial decisions. A product can be a paying advertiser and still receive a critical review — or no review at all if it doesn't meet our quality bar.

Our editorial team is led by Riya Sharma (Head of Content & Editorial) and reports independently of the commercial team led by Omar Al-Rashid (Head of Agency & Business Development).

Section 02

What We Publish — and What We Don't

Every content type we publish follows a defined format, minimum quality bar, and editorial checklist. Below is a summary of our publishing scope.

✅ What We Publish

  • In-depth SaaS tool reviews (minimum 1,500 words)
  • Software comparison articles (minimum 2,000 words)
  • Industry statistics and data journalism (primary sources only)
  • How-to guides and step-by-step tutorials
  • WordPress plugin guides and technical content
  • Affiliate marketing strategy and income reports
  • Sponsored content — clearly labelled as such

✗ What We Don't Publish

  • Press releases presented as editorial content without disclosure
  • Paid reviews presented as independent editorial opinions
  • Unverified statistics or data without a primary source
  • Content attacking competitors without factual basis
  • AI-generated content published without human expert review
  • Anonymous content without a named, verified author
  • Outdated pricing or feature information left uncorrected

Section 03

Our Authors & Content Standards

Every article on SaasTreats.com is written by a named author with a verified bio linked to their profile. We do not publish anonymous content. Author profiles include their expertise, professional background, and areas of specialisation.

✍️ Author Standards — What Every SaasTreats Author Must Meet

Verified Identity
Real name, professional bio, and a linked author profile page on the site.

Demonstrated Expertise
Authors write only within their documented area of expertise. A developer writes plugin guides; a marketer writes affiliate strategy.

First-Hand Knowledge
Reviews and how-to guides must be based on first-hand testing or experience — not secondary research alone.

Disclosure Compliance
Authors must disclose any personal financial relationship with a product they review — including personal affiliate links.

On AI tools: AI tools may be used for research assistance, outline generation, or first-draft support. However, all published content on SaasTreats.com is written, reviewed, fact-checked, and verified by a named human author before publication. We do not publish AI-generated content that has not been substantively edited and verified by a human expert in the relevant field.

Section 04

Corrections & Updates Policy

We correct factual errors promptly and transparently. We do not silently edit articles. Every material correction is noted inline with the update date. Here is our standard corrections process:

Error Identified Day 0
Error is flagged by a reader, vendor, team member, or identified through our quarterly content audit. Contact: editorial@saastreats.com

Editorial Verification Within 48 hrs
The editorial team verifies the claim against primary sources. If the error is confirmed, it is queued for correction. If disputed, a second team member reviews.

Correction Applied Within 5 business days
The article is updated. A correction note is added at the bottom of the article stating the date of the change and what was corrected.

Requester Notified On completion
Where a correction was submitted by a reader or vendor, we reply to confirm the correction has been applied. We thank submitters for helping us maintain accuracy.

Note: Requests to remove negative-but-accurate reviews or ratings are not considered correction requests and will not be actioned. Our correction policy exists to fix inaccuracies — not to manage commercial reputations.

Section 05

Sponsored Content Policy

SaasTreats.com occasionally publishes sponsored content — articles, guides, or posts that are funded by a third-party brand. Our policy on sponsored content is simple and non-negotiable:

  • All sponsored content is clearly labelled “Sponsored” or “Partner Content” at the very top of the article — before the reader begins reading
  • Sponsors have no editorial control over the content they sponsor. They may not require positive coverage, remove negative statements, or alter our editorial conclusions
  • Sponsored articles are never mixed into editorial listings without a clear visual label distinguishing them from independent content
  • Sponsored content is compliant with FTC guidelines on native advertising and clearly distinguishable from organic editorial content

Sponsored · Partner Content

This is what a sponsored content label looks like at the top of a SaasTreats.com article. It appears before the headline, before the body, before everything — so readers know immediately what they are reading.

Hard rule: If a sponsor requests that we remove a critical statement, alter a rating, or omit a negative fact from sponsored content, we decline the arrangement entirely. Sponsor money does not buy editorial control — at any price.
